Care

We want you to love and wear these pieces endlessly, but mindful care will help keep them from damage. 

Opaque gemstones like turquoise, malachite, onyx and agate are natural stones which can be porous and easily absorb chemicals. The polish can be damaged, and discoloration may occur if dirt and oils build up and they are not cared for or maintained properly. 

• Don’t wear while doing exercise or yard work
• Don’t wear in a pool 
• Avoid harsh chemicals including bleach, ammonia, chlorine, and household cleaning products
• Avoid fragrances lotions and cosmetics coming into direct contact with the stone
• Don't use an ultrasonic cleaner
• Don't steam clean
• Don't soak for an extended period in hot water
• Colored stones can chip, scratch and break—please protect your jewelry from impact on hard surfaces

Cleaning:

• Wipe down stone with a clean damp cloth
• Hand wash metal and faceted stones with warm water and a couple drops of dish soap using a soft bristle brush, like a baby’s toothbrush, to get into the recesses and remove any built-up grime
• Rinse under warm water, however, do not soak or submerge the stones in water
• Ensure the items are then thoroughly dry by patting them with a clean, soft cloth
• To reduce tarnishing and keep your jewelry looking its best, wear often
• Wipe down with a polishing cloth after wear and store in a soft dark place
