As part of our month-long Flip for Good program, we partnered with beauty vet, entrepreneur and tastemaker Nyakio Greico, who customized two of our signature Flip Rings.
The Mombasa Flip Ring and mini-me Signet Flip are seriously stunning. No surprise there as Nyakio’s known for her impeccable style and creative vision. The rings dazzle with their blend of pink sapphires, white diamonds, turquoise and gold—all thoughtfully chosen by Nyakio for their personal meaning.
“I named the ring ‘Mombasa’ because it’s my favorite, gorgeous location on the East African coast, reflecting my Kenyan heritage,” she says.
Giving back to others was also part of the allure: Through October, 10 percent of net proceeds of the purchase of Mombasa and any Flip Ring (including signets) goes to The Art of Elysium, a nonprofit built on the idea that art can be a catalyst for social change through service.
Nyakio has a special relationship with the LA-based charity. “I’ve been a volunteer with Art Elysium for several years. My husband is a fine-art sculptor who designs awards for their Heaven gala. We are both deeply committed to the mission that “art heals.” I fell more deeply in love with him and his artistry through our dedication to healing others through the arts,” she explains.
Not only did Nyakio use her creative eye to design the Flips but she curated a selection of other Cast pieces that work brilliantly with Mombasa.

Recently, we had the chance to talk with Nyakio about all things Flip and more. Highlights here.
All the right stones: For the Mombasa ring, I chose stones that remind me of my complete heritage. I was born in New York but loved my Oklahoma childhood— I included turquoise to represent the beautiful Native American inspiration from my Oklahama upbringing and the sparkling blue ocean in Mombasa, Kenya. Plus, diamonds because they’re my birthstone as an Aries.
Living large: I love the large Flip Ring for its many options. I chose gems and stones based on my mood, vibration and wishes. I wanted to create a ring for the Cast community that embodies all my dreams into one.
Shoutout to Signet. I love the Signet Flip Ring for its quiet luxury and how it perfectly represents all aspects of me, while also being a great gift.
Golden babe: My first piece of jewelry ever was a pair of gold earrings my mom adorned me with as a baby. She pierced my ears early!
Silver or gold? Gold always. I’m a gold girly!
Cast connection: I was drawn to Cast not only for its beautiful artistry and my love of jewelry, but as a female founder. I wanted to champion that same vision to make the world more sparkly. Cast’s commitment to celebrating women who support women perfectly aligns with my goal of showing up in the world to uplift other women.
Won’t leave home without it: My vintage engagement ring that my father-in-law gave my mother-in-law in the ‘60s. I also never leave home without my “Lulu” and “Rocco” rose gold rings by Ivy Diamond Cole, which I wear daily to represent my kids. I also wear my Naomi Gray bracelets, and Sage and Salt protection amulet. I wear them all every single day.
Good business advice: I’ve learned that leaning into your own self-worth is non-negotiable, and the only way we win is to support one another. The work can often be challenging, showing up in the world as women on a mission. But the payoff is staying true to ourselves while lifting others along the way.
